NHHA TEAMS UP WITH THE MINT 400 FOR ROUND 3

The Mint 400 announced today that the AMA National Hare and Hound Championship Series will join “The Great American Off-Road Race™” in 2020. The Mint 400 will become the third stop of the nine-race AMA National series next year. Additionally, the NHHA staff, led by chairman Meg Argubright and Series Director Jacob Michna will be onsite helping to manage the motorcycle race operations under Mint 400 Race Director Tony Vanillo and Mint 400 Technical Director Bill Savage.

All of the existing Mint 400 sportsman motorcycle classes will remain intact, and the current Pro motorcycle classes will be updated to reflect the new AMA National Hare and Hound series specs and rules. The alliance not only builds on this year’s wildly successful return of the motorcycles for the first time in thirty-seven years, but it will also introduce youth motorcycle racing to the Mint for the first time ever – adding yet another dimension to the storied race.

“2019 will be remembered as one of the most important moments in the Mint’s history for decades to come, because of the 160 motorcycle teams that showed up this year to help us rechristen this race! When we stepped back and asked ourselves how we could improve and build on that, the answer was obvious. Go partner with one of the most professional and well-run moto groups in the country, the NHHA,” said Mint 400 COO, Joshua Martelli.

“This new partnership offers the existing NHHA racers and sponsors a massive amount of exposure, and helps us expand and improve on the quality of our two-wheel effort. Plus, KIDS – how rad is it that we will have youth moto racing at the Mint next year? Those “Mini-Mint” races will be awesome, we can’t wait!”

Motorcycle racers will tech on Thursday, March 5th this year, and special provisions will be made for youth racers that want to push down Fremont Street with the adult bikes. Adults will race on Friday, March 6th in front of an estimated crowd of 10,000 spectators, while the youth will race on Saturday, March 7th in front of even larger crowds on hand to watch the premiere four-wheel Unlimited Truck class compete.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with The Mint 400 in 2020, and to add the flavor of Las Vegas to our 2020 schedule. This is an incredible opportunity for not only us, but also our racers and long-time sponsors like Kenda Tire, SRT and FMF, and supports our mission of growing the sport and modernizing one of the purest forms of off-road motorcycle racing,” said NHHA Chairman, Meg Argubright.

“We are working very closely with the Martelli Brothers to ensure the motorcycle racers of the Mint 400 benefit from the same high standard we strive to deliver at all stops of our racing series. In addition to our National class structure, our support extends across all classes of The Mint 400. From Harley’s to Team and unique tribute classes, there will be something for everyone. and we are so excited to make this a special event for the two-wheel community.”

Motorcycle registration for all event classes will go live alongside four-wheel registration in the coming weeks via the Mint 400 website using their online Eventbrite portal. Riders can find a complete breakdown of pricing, prize purses and a detailed schedule at that time.

The 2020 Mint 400 returns to Las Vegas on Tuesday, March 3rd and runs through Sunday, March 8th, 2020. The week of festivities will culminate with two days of thrilling off-road racing on Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th, with pre-race events beginning earlier that week.
