Desert MC
Years hosting National Hare & Hound events: 10+
Desert MC has been a part of the series for decades, and is an owner club of the NHHA! This year, the club will return to Lucerne Valley, California after their season opener last year at Red Mountain OHV. With rich roots in the historic AMA District 37 organization, this club prides themselves on hosting the series opener.
The Desert Motorcycle Club was formed in 1967, and was incorporated with the State of California in 1968. There were nine original Desert MC members. The Club has since grown to approximately one hundred members in various membership categories. Throughout its history, Desert MC has hosted various types of events such as enduros, hare scrambles and euro scrambles, but has primarily hosted Hare and Hound events, many that have been AMA Nationals.
Desert MC and its’ members promote rider safety, education and environmental responsibility through the sport of motorcycle racing and further supports motorcycling by offering friendship to fellow enthusiasts. Many Club members participate in events to raise money for charitable causes like the “Ride for Kids” (Pediatric Brain Tumor Research) and the Colorado 500 Charity rides. Desert MC is also a supporter of the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE).
Although Desert MC is primarily a racing club, we do have many members who road ride and dual-sport ride. Desert MC is a mixture of members who are family oriented, but still like to have fun. The skill levels in Desert MC range from Beginner to Expert, with some members having held D37 #1 plates.
